Desktop Weather is a computer application that displays the weather at a PC user's desired location.

Remember when you couldn't just use a built-in widget to check the weather? This app is a throwback to those days, albeit one that's a little nicer than your average add-on. Desktop Weather is a combination of weather reminder and screen saver, one that will let you set your weather locations to multiple areas so you can check the weather where you live, where you work, and where you'd rather be. It's a nice little program that doesn't cause problems with your computer but that does give you the information you need.

This program is a throwback in more ways than one. It updates the weather on its own schedule, not yours - so get ready to know what the weather is like at specific times of the day, not when you need it. It also includes a screen saver, which is both boring and completely unnecessary in the 21st century. Everything about the program points to it being far more useful ten years ago than it would be today. It's a weird addition to today's computers, but it probably still has its place.

You don't need this app. You might like it, though. You might enjoy having the multiple weather locations available to you at any given time and you might even be the type of person who enjoys having access to a weather-based screensaver. If you are like anyone else, though, it will probably be easier for you to look at your phone to get this information. This isn't a bad program, but it is a program that is out of date.
